What is in car diagnostics?
A modern car can produce thousands of different fault codes. Having the correct diagnostics equipment is vital for identifying fault codes and warning messages. Sensors in your vehicle continually report to the ECU (Engine Control Unit) on how they are performing. If a problem occurs, it logs a fault code on the ECU’s memory. A diagnostic code reader has to be used to read the fault or message and to clear any fault codes from the memory.
We use Snap On diagnostic equipment. You may see a warning light on your dashboard, but these only give a small part of the full picture. Our car diagnostic check picks up these errors and identifies what they mean, so component failures can be prevented before they lead to further damage or expensive repairs. Faults that create a fault code will not always activate a warning light, but a diagnosis can normally be made from having good mechanical knowledge.
Do I have to go to a main dealership?
You don't have to go to a dealership for a code reading. We can carry out diagnostic testing for cars of any make or model and we only charge £25 plus vat for this service.
Are there any hidden costs?
The cost of our car diagnostics test is fixed. The price you see is the price you pay. If we discover problems with your engine or other components we will provide you with a free, no-obligation repair quote upfront. We will always stick to our quotes even if we have made a mistake.
